It's a PEE-ZAH!

D was gone all weekend (seemed sooo long) and came home yesterday evening. And I had exciting news to tell him the moment he bounced in the door! First, we were headed to the Wests for dinner, friendship and fun. Second, today we'd be flying buddies en route to see MopMop and PopPop! My little man was totally stoked, on both accounts.

We quickly piled into the car and off we went to see some dear friends! And thanks to the fine culinary skills of the lady of the house, we had make-your-own-pizza night. After D helped himself to a little pepperoni and cheese (pre-cooked), he got to help Ms. April make his very own! And helped the rest of us too. Mr Doug said (in his best Italian mobster lingo), "D say - 'it's a PEE-ZAH'!" To which D replied with exactly that. It was HILARIOUS. And let me just say, Campisi's has nothing on Aprilisi's.

Was such a blessing to have good food, great fellowship and lotsa laughs. Was the perfect way to round out a wonderful weekend.

My darling boy slept until 9:30. (D, Momma would LOVE for you to do that on Sat morning when she can sleep in too, k? K.) Woke up and was a little fuzzy for a bit (who wouldn't be after TWELVE hours of glorious zzz's?!). Then, D perked up and was ready to be his Momma's best flying buddy! And he WAS. I love that he can carry his own backpack, put his shoes in the bins at security on his own, and be such a sweet little man. My child definitely has wings in his genes - absolutely LOVES to fly the friendly skies (he gets that from PopPop AND Mom too!). Oh, and he asked to lug his own suitcase...and pulled it all the way to curbside check-in. There were a LOT of giggling peeps watching us. :) I just smiled.

We made it safe and sound to West Texas this afternoon. (We had my personal fave arrival cuisine - DELISH Rosa's - for a late lunch, and now D's back in sleep heaven...in his big boy Midland bed.) Oh, and the flight attendants were a RIOT. As we were coming in for landing, they asked the entire plane to put our hands in the air and yell "Weeeeeee!" as we hit the tarmac. Perfectly timed and absolutely hysterical. D was the most enthusiastic member of our flying entourage!

Hope you are having a magnificent Monday. We sure are! More to come soon...
